It's been almost a month since the last update here at VoM.com, and reason is that natural one that happens ever so often during transition times due to the strange real world out there. The vikings are still active in Sosaria though and some parts also in Azeroth. Some new members has arrived and som old has returned, so it is rolling.
Beside her duty as news reporter at UO.Stratics, Nyte is moved her EM Event reporting from UONation to here at VoM.com. Expect her first write up this coming week sometimes, depending on when the next event/EM meeting is going to take place. |

For the alliance! - sort of a cliché but in this case that's all there is to it. As I returned to the Vikings headquarters at the northern shores of Britannia at past midnight, I myself had been in battle for 13 hours and it was still going on at Blighted Grove. That was where it all started at 11 AM the same morning as I met up with Trixie, Omar and Aze of Chaos of Deception for a morning battle at Melisande.
Right afterwards I was invited to join to Prism of Light to collect keys for an afternoon battle at the Peerless boss there. And from there it kept on. People in both guilds joined up as they came about. The plan of gathering for a alliance hunt at 7 PM to go to Prism of Light was changed all over at 4 PM as Nyte was called upon to an EM Event in her duty as reporter for UO Stratics. At that time, we were in middle of battle in Prism of Light as we had gathered three sets of keys. We took a break at 5 as Aragorn and some others went to gather keys for a Travesty hunt we were going to have simultaniosly with the EM Event at 7:30 PM.
I myself went as planned to the EM Event, and I am not sure what to comment on the event, really. It turned out that Nathan Hawke, Seeker of Truth wasn't attuned to Stygian Abyss. Nathan Hawke, Chief of the Royal Guard of Britannia, didn't have access to Stygian Abyss. ... No comment. I did actually bail on the EM Event shortly after the event party had entered the Abyss just to get the notice to head back out again. I surely did head back out and straight to The Citadel instead where our Alliance was now gathering for battle with Travesty. We got to go at the Peerless boss at the Citadel 3 times, whereof two at the same time as Blade of VoM had started to gather keys in Prism of Light. We got to go and fight Shimmering Effusion once before gathering for a last trip to Blighted Grove and Melisande.. and the circle was finished. What a day, what a battle, what a crew!

Briggsy, Mephisto, Lady Allina, Aaron, Blade the Mad, myself, Lady Nyte and Lady Effie Faylinn poses after defeating the Stygian Dragon.
There is nothing like firsts, and last night was another of those moments as 8 brave souls went to take on the Stygian Dragon in the abyss with the same name. Just as when we went to take on Medusa for the first time, we had little information about the dragon other than we were up for one hell of a fight. The latter was true and many grey robes later we could finally line up at our first dragonkill in Stygian Abyss.
Blade the Mad, Lady Nyte, Lady Effie Faylinn, Aaron, Briggsy, Mephisto and Lady Allina at Medusa.
We went together with a few more than the first time to fight Medusa before taking on the dragon. It was the first for the others and they seemed to have as much fun as we had the first time we were here. Both Medusa and the Stygian Dragon are very intense fights even with a larger party like we were last night. Thanks to you who had the opportunity to come with us. It was another good evening, as Blade said to me over a PM.
Another thing that we noticed last night was that the droprate of artifacts seems to increase with the number in the party. Two items dropped, where of one was a Life Syphon sword (fencing). Blade was the lucky one who got the head of the dragon. Go check pics of the items and the fight at the gallery.
