Everybody knows by now that I like those big battles. Entering the Void the other night was another of those precious moments. The mission was to save Dorian who had been trapped there by the evil mage Mericles. It was carnage after we finally managed to get through the gate and defeat the hordes of mobs attacking. Eventually everybody gathered around Dorian, who was freed by Nathan Hawke and brought back to safety through one of the shrines in Ilshenar. There was a follow up Monday the 20th that I didn't have the opportunity to attend, so you have to visit either UOForums or UOStratics to find information about that.

Welcome to the 2009 edition of Vikingsofmidgard.com. Due to the new format, this edition is going to be published bit by bit. Last night the shards went down for a fix to the publish 58 we had last week. They went down at around 7 EST(12GMT) which meant that there where many players online at the time. It was a bit later for us on the Europa shard but our resident late niter's Bowloch and Aramas went over to the test center. This was the only shard that was up. As you can see from the picture it seems many other people had the same idea.
There are some pictures posted on the UO Stratics forums as well.

A major battle on the way to rescue the medium Hannah and escort her to safety at Empath Abbey in Yew. This concluded in a way the Fire and Ice event March 21-22nd. In a way it didn't, as the evening ended in East Britain as plans were made to trap this Mericles fellow. As I haven't followed the storyline of these events, it was a bit hard to follow at times.
Stewan Seagull was kind enough to write a summary of the dialogue of the leading roles during the event, and while reading it, it occured to me that I had missed alot of the conversation, partly from lag. I make sure to keep the journal up and running at all times at the next event.
All in all it was fun and it's nice to be back amongst RP'ers again, although I am in it for slaying deamons and dragons as everybody that knows me already know. Thanks to Nathan Hawke, Lord Casca and Hannah for bringing some Live Event Magic into a game that still feels.. that's right, magic.
